Hotspur Press

Your brick presence, your iconic view,
you’re not a person but you’re a Mancunian too.
You opened your doors in the eighteen-hundreds and had Manchester folk working around the clock,
with your rugged brick walls sitting on the banks of the River Medlock.
You’ve been a cotton mill and a printing press,
now your iconic view has gone to rest.
What will sit on your wonderful site?
I bet ya it’ll be fucking shite.

One of Manchester’s most historic buildings has been left destroyed after a huge fire erupted in the city centre in a major incident.

The now-derelict Hotspur Press building beside Oxford Road station erupted into flames on Monday afternoon . (Thank you Manchester Evening News)
