Speke Hall

Speke Hall in Liverpool beautiful woodland walks and gardens dating back to the Tudor times. I visited today this is a marvellous house dating back almost 500 years old, this black and white house sits on the banks of the River Mersey.

Historical Englang was a Protestant country and being a Catholic was against the law and punishment was death; so in many historical houses throughout England there would be priest hole or secret hiding place, so when the King’s soldiers came calling you could hide the Catholic priest.
