Festive Season

With it coming up to Christmas, and I do admit I love the festive season; so I wanted to create a poem to show my love for my favourite film, ‘Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol.’

A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Poem
By Mark Quinn

The chains do rattle
and the keys do clank,
Marley’s at the door
so give it a yank.
The ghosts of the past,
present and future,
It’s just a shame Scrooge
ain’t got an internet router!
Humbug he states on that Christmas Eve,
because giving is not what he believes.
Tiny Tim wobbles with his stick,
and the plant-based turkey is cut so thick.
“It’s Christmas morning,” he yells so bright,
“The spirits did it all in just one night,
I will change for the better and my heart will glow.
For it is Christmas morning and full of snow.”

Me in action

I did my very first poetry performance at The Gillery, in Mossley, Greater Manchester.

It went down very well and I will be doing more dates in ghe very near future.
